Gongkwon Yusul is a modern Korean martial art, emphasizing the application of striking, locking, and throwing techniques in practical, free-flowing fighting situations. Regular training is accompanied by an improvement in endurance, patience, strength, speed, concentration and flexibility. Gongkwon Yusul training aims at the acquisition of self-defense techniques, an increase in self-confidence, gaining control over one’s own body and mind, as well as respectful behavior towards others.

Brazillian Jiu Jitsu
(ages 13-up)

Brazillian jiu-jitsu (BJJ) is a martial art and combat sport that focuses on grappling with particular emphasis on ground fighting. BJJ focuses on getting an opponent to the ground in order to neutralize possible strength of size advantages through ground fighting techniques and submission holds involving joint-locks and chokeholds. Training methods include technique drills, positional sparring; and full sparring. BJJ is considered a martial art, a sport, a method for promoting physical fitness and building character, and a way of life.

Kali
(ages 13-up)

Filipino Kali is the art of stick fighting using hard bamboo sticks to strike and defend. Kali is famous for its flow drills that are both fun and give a real feel for the movement and speed of combat. Kali is an ancient word that serves as an umbrella term for all the Filipino martial arts. The word “kali” itself translates as the study of “body motion”. Movements are broken down into easily learned segments. In Kali training, you will be given the ability to perform techniques such as counters, disarms, sweeps and locks.
